Motorhome storage for Hope, Castleton, Bradwell and Bamford
Keeping a motorhome in the Hope Valley can make sense for local owners and for people who return to the area regularly. The practical question is how storage will fit your journeys: getting to the vehicle, preparing for a trip, reaching your booked campsite and bringing everything home afterwards. An attractive holiday destination is a reason to visit; a workable collection routine is a reason to choose a storage location.
Peakside Storage is based in Hope, S33. Our motorhome and campervan spaces cost £50 per month. Customers have 24/7 access once their arrangements have received final approval. This guide looks at what owners in Hope, Castleton, Bradwell and Bamford, and regular visitors to those villages, should consider before choosing a yard.

One yard in Hope, serving the surrounding villages
Our public location is Hope, S33. We share the full address privately only after final booking approval and space allocation. We welcome enquiries from Castleton, Bradwell and Bamford, but your motorhome would be stored at the Hope yard. That distinction matters when you compare search results, calculate journeys or consider a suitable area for storage. A village mentioned in a service description is not necessarily the location of a separate branch.
Please wait for your private welcome email before travelling. We send the full address and precise arrival location only after your booking is confirmed, a space is allocated and final access is approved. If your vehicle or circumstances raise a particular access question, tell us before travelling so we can discuss it properly.
There is no need to commit to a storage arrangement just because the location looks promising online. Start with a provisional enquiry and discuss your requirements with us. Checking that the yard fits the way you intend to use your motorhome is a worthwhile first step.
Hope: consider the whole collection routine
For an owner living in Hope, a local storage space may be an alternative to keeping a motorhome outside the house. The attraction could be reclaiming the drive, keeping access to a garage clear or separating the stored vehicle from everyday parking. Think about the practical result you want. If the motorhome currently causes no difficulty at home, the value of paying for another space may be different.
Plan how you would get to the yard when you want the vehicle. Would somebody drop you off, would you make a separate journey to prepare it, or would collecting it involve a change of vehicles? Ask about anything you need from the yard as part of that arrangement. In particular, do not assume that a motorhome storage booking includes somewhere to leave another car during your holiday.
This sounds like a small detail, but it can decide whether local storage feels easy in practice. Work through one ordinary weekend trip and one longer holiday before choosing the arrangement that suits you.
Castleton: separate sightseeing plans from vehicle arrangements
Castleton's caverns, Peveril Castle and surrounding walks help explain why visitors return to this part of the valley. The National Park Authority's Castleton guide is a useful starting point for local visitor information. Storage planning has a different purpose: you need somewhere suitable to leave your vehicle between trips and a clear way to collect it when the next journey begins.
If you live in Castleton, compare the trip to the Hope yard with your usual travel direction and the space available at home. If Castleton is a place you visit on holiday, consider whether local storage would suit several trips rather than only one. The right answer will depend on how often you return and where you go at other times of year.
Check attraction parking and campsite arrangements separately. A stored motorhome still needs an appropriate place to park while you are visiting somewhere, and a storage agreement does not provide an overnight touring pitch. Make those plans before collecting the vehicle for a visit.
Bradwell: make the home-space question specific
If you are considering storage as a Bradwell resident, begin with what keeping the motorhome at home means for your household. Perhaps another vehicle needs the drive, perhaps getting in and out involves moving several cars, or perhaps the arrangement is perfectly manageable. A useful comparison starts with your own property and routine, rather than a general claim that home storage is always awkward.
Take a normal week and note how often the motorhome affects parking or access. Then consider the extra trips that off-site storage would involve. There may be a clear benefit in freeing the space, or you may find that frequent access to the motorhome matters more. Both are reasonable conclusions. The aim is to choose deliberately rather than swap one inconvenience for another.
Our Hope yard offers an option to investigate while making that comparison. Tell us the make and model, when you would like to start and any practical requirement that might affect your decision. We can check the space and explain the arrangements before you proceed.
Bamford: think about the journeys between holidays
For an owner in Bamford, or someone who often visits that side of the Hope Valley, the holiday itself is only part of the storage calculation. You may also need to collect belongings, prepare the motorhome, take it for an appointment or make a short trip at relatively little notice. Include those visits when deciding whether keeping the vehicle in Hope would work for you.
Try comparing two realistic months: one in which you travel regularly and one in which the motorhome stays parked. How often would you need to reach it in each? Would the journey fit comfortably around work or other commitments? A storage location can be convenient for departure but less convenient for the smaller visits that happen between holidays.
The access hours are relevant here. Approved Peakside customers have 24/7 yard access, so a visit does not have to fit a daytime opening window. First visits still need to be arranged, and any questions about the use of the yard should be settled before you rely on a particular routine.
Motorhomes and campervans: explain what you have
Motorhomes and campervans come in different layouts and sizes, and owners use them in different ways. Some vehicles make occasional long trips; others are taken out for frequent weekends. When you enquire, give us the make and model and describe any particular access needs. That helps us discuss whether the available space is appropriate before we approve the request.
The booking form does not ask you to work through a complicated set of vehicle measurements. However, if there is something unusual about your vehicle or its equipment that could affect the space, mention it in the additional details. It is easier to discuss a specific concern at the beginning than discover a misunderstanding on arrival.
Campervan and motorhome storage at Peakside is £50 per month. The same provisional application process applies to both. Check the motorhome storage page for the service details and use the form to tell us what you would like to store.
What 24/7 access changes about a trip
Many journeys do not begin and end at convenient office hours. You might want an early departure, need to collect the motorhome after work or arrive back later than expected. Access throughout the day and night gives you more room to plan around those circumstances. It can also remove the pressure of aiming for a closing time during the last part of a long return journey.
At Peakside, 24/7 access applies to approved storage customers. It is not an invitation for an unannounced viewing, and it does not mean that support staff are on site at every hour. Before you collect your vehicle for the first time, read the welcome information and make sure you understand the gate arrangements and your allocated space.
Keep those instructions private and accessible to you when needed. If there is anything you do not understand, ask in advance. The purpose of flexible access is to make using your vehicle easier, and that depends on being familiar with the arrangements before a late-night return.
Know what is included in the yard description
Our vehicle storage is outdoors on a hard-gravelled yard. Spaces are separated by Heras fencing, with a secure gate and CCTV at the entrance. Those details give you a concrete starting point for comparing the site with your needs. If you want to know more about the available bay or the layout, arrange to discuss it with us rather than relying on a general description.
It is important not to assume that every storage yard provides the same facilities. If you need electricity, water, washing, waste disposal or another service, ask whether it is available. We do not include those facilities in our advertised storage offer. Likewise, ask before assuming that servicing, repairs or other work can take place at the yard.
When discussing cover with your insurer, use the actual site address and the features we have confirmed. Your own policy determines any requirements you need to meet. A storage price and a list of site features do not, by themselves, answer questions about insurance cover.
Plan packing without making promises about facilities
Before a trip, decide what will stay in the vehicle between journeys and what you will bring each time. A short packing list can save an extra journey for an item that was left at home. Keep the list practical: personal belongings, documents, things you use on arrival and anything that normally moves between the house and the motorhome.
If you intend to load at the yard, ask about the arrangements that matter to you. For example, you may want to know how a person dropping you off should approach or where they should wait. Do not infer permission to use another bay or leave a second vehicle because there appears to be room. Available spaces may be allocated even when they are temporarily empty.
Follow your vehicle manufacturer's instructions for preparation and checks before driving. Storage does not take the place of maintenance, and having round-the-clock access is not a reason to rush the checks you would normally make. Allow yourself enough time to start the journey comfortably.
Regular visitors: compare a full season of travel
Keeping a motorhome near a place you visit regularly can sound appealing, but test the idea against your whole travel pattern. List the trips you hope to make during the coming months. Include holidays elsewhere, weekends in the Hope Valley and any occasions when you want the vehicle near home. Then look at how each would begin and end under a local storage arrangement.
Unlike a caravan, a motorhome is also the vehicle you drive during the trip. Getting to it and returning home after leaving it are therefore important parts of the plan. Consider who will travel with you and how everyone will reach the yard. If your plan depends on leaving a car, obtaining a lift or using another form of transport, confirm that part before committing.
There is no universal saving to promise. A Hope base may suit repeated visits well, while home-area storage may be simpler for a varied touring programme. Choose the arrangement that matches the trips you actually take rather than the trips you might take one day.
Understand approval before planning your first arrival
The first step is a provisional motorhome request. Provide your name, email address, phone number, vehicle details and preferred start date. We check suitability and availability and give a same-day reply. No payment is taken when you send the form, and submitting it does not mean you can arrive and use the yard immediately.
After initial approval, you receive a private link to review and accept the storage terms and complete Direct Debit setup through GoCardless. Once that setup is finalised, we review everything and manually approve access. The welcome information then includes your allocated space and yard instructions. This final review is a separate step from completing the bank authorisation process.
Make sure the email address and telephone number in your application are correct. If your preferred start date changes, tell us so the arrangements can be discussed before you travel. For your first arrival, use the private directions sent after final booking approval and space allocation. Please wait for those details before travelling.
Choose storage around the way you use your motorhome
The best enquiry is a specific one: the vehicle you own, the date you have in mind and the way you expect to collect and return it. Those details are more useful than trying to decide from a price alone. Ask the questions that would genuinely change your decision, whether they concern the bay, the first arrival or the journeys you would make between holidays.
For Hope, Castleton, Bradwell and Bamford owners, the practical comparison is often between household space and the convenience of a local yard. For regular visitors, it is more often about how a Hope base fits a season of travel. Both start with the same essentials: actual location, suitable space, understood terms and workable access.
Read the location and access information, compare keeping a vehicle at home with using storage, or see our Hope Valley caravan storage checklist if you also tow a caravan. When you are ready, send a provisional request and we will discuss whether the available space suits your plans.
